Ogassa and Sant Joan de les Abadesses have an authorization from the Generalitat to be able to practice paragliding taking advantage of the unevenness of the surroundings, the climate, the wind and the orientation of the valley.

Type of flight and access

It is an excellent flight area to do a "hike&fly" with an altitude difference of 1200 meters if you leave Sant Joan de les Abadesses. In the cold seasons, it may be necessary to use snowshoes to access the higher parts of the mountain range. The flights at these times are generally descent flights which, depending on the characteristics of the equipment, do not always allow you to reach the Sant Joan de les Abadesses landing.

The rest of the year long-distance flights can be made thanks to the thermal conditions of the area. It should be borne in mind that, in the summer and in hours of strong sunlight, the thermal currents can be powerful and require more technical piloting.

Access to take-off 1 (see map) can be done by vehicle on the track that leaves Ogassa in the direction of Camprodon and take, on the left, the track that leads to the Montserrat refuge. Vehicles must be left without limiting the passage and without damaging the margins. Lifts 2 and 3 can be accessed by walking from lift 1. Lift 4 under Puigs Estela can be accessed by walking from the Sant Joan de les Abadesses station park or from the "Camí d' Ogassa» (42.268505, 2.259778) where there is a place to leave the vehicles.
